Kevin O’Donnell

Kevin J. O’Donnell is the President and Chief Executive Officer of RenaissanceRe, a leading global property and casualty reinsurer. He joined RenaissanceRe in 1996, with roles over that time including: Executive Vice President and Global Chief Underwriter, President of Renaissance Reinsurance Ltd., and Chief Underwriting Officer for the Company’s joint ventures, Top Layer Re and DaVinci Re.

Mr. O’Donnell is actively involved with many industry and educational organizations and is the Chair of The ClimateWise Insurance Advisory Council, a member of the U.S. Department of the Treasury Federal Advisory Committee on Insurance, a member of the Sustainable Markets Initiative Insurance Task Force, Trustee of The Institutes, and a Member of the Board of Overseers for St. John’s University School of Risk Management. He previously served as Chair of the Global Reinsurance Forum, Chair of the Association of Bermuda Insurers and Reinsurers, and Director of the Reinsurance Association of America. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Hamilton College and an M.B.A. from New York University’s Stern School of Business.

Robert "Bob" Qutub

Robert Qutub is Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of RenaissanceRe, where he is responsible for Finance, Investments, Treasury, Operations, IT and Human Resources.

Prior to joining RenaissanceRe, Mr. Qutub was Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer for MSCI Inc. from July 2012 to May 2016, where he managed all aspects of SEC reporting, treasury, investor relations, financial planning and internal controls, as well as other responsibilities. Prior to MSCI Inc., Mr. Qutub was with Bank of America for 18 years, where he held several segment Chief Financial Officer roles.

Mr. Qutub holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He has served on the Board of Directors of USAA Federal Savings Bank since June 2014 and also served in the United States Marine Corps.

Shannon Bender

Shannon Lowry Bender is Executive Vice President, Group General Counsel and Corporate Secretary at RenaissanceRe. She joined the company in 2021 and is responsible for legal, regulatory, government affairs and compliance matters on a global basis.

Ms. Bender has a wealth of legal experience across corporate law, governance and mergers & acquisitions and most recently served as Senior Vice President and Chief Corporate Counsel of CIT Group Inc., a publicly listed financial and bank holding company. Prior to working at CIT, Ms. Bender was a Partner at Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver & Jacobson LLP in New York.

Ms. Bender earned a B.S. in Telecommunications from the University of Florida and a J.D. from the University of Miami School of Law.

Ross Curtis

Ross Curtis is Executive Vice President and Chief Portfolio Officer for RenaissanceRe with responsibility for the execution the company’s gross-to-net strategy, by providing oversight for RenaissanceRe’s risk tolerance, portfolio optimization and deployed underwriting capital. He is Chair of RenaissanceRe’s DEI Council and is based in Bermuda.

Prior to this, Ross served as Group Chief Underwriting Officer for RenaissanceRe from 2014 to 2022, with responsibility for directing RenaissanceRe’s underwriting strategy, activities and teams across all regions and platforms to ensure the highest levels of consistency and customer service.

Between 2010 and 2014, Ross was Active Underwriter of Syndicate 1458, based in London. He was appointed to the Executive Committee of RenaissanceRe Holdings Ltd. in May 2010. Prior to this, he served as Senior Vice President of Renaissance Reinsurance Ltd. in Bermuda, primarily responsible for underwriting the International and Retrocessional Property Catastrophe portfolios, along with responsibility for Ceded Reinsurance and involvement in the development of the Specialty Reinsurance lines.

Ross joined RenaissanceRe in 1999 as a Catastrophe Reinsurance Analyst and has played a significant role in the ongoing development of the Company’s proprietary Renaissance Exposure Management System (REMS©) and its portfolio analysis methodologies since that time.

He earned his Master’s degree (Honours) in Mental Philosophy from the University of Edinburgh.

David Marra

David Marra is Executive Vice President and Group Chief Underwriting Officer for RenaissanceRe, with responsibility for directing the company’s underwriting strategy, teams, risk appetite, and customer engagement activities across all regions and platforms. He is based in our Bermuda and New York offices.

Prior to this, Mr. Marra was Chief Underwriting Officer – Casualty & Specialty for RenaissanceRe Holdings Ltd. and President of Renaissance Reinsurance U.S. Inc. He has been with the company since 2008.

Mr. Marra has over 25 years of insurance and reinsurance experience, including more than 15 years in the Bermuda reinsurance market in which he held various underwriting and actuarial positions. He holds a B.S. in Mathematical Sciences from the University of Kentucky and is also a Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society.

Hugh Brennan

Hugh Brennan is the Chief Executive Officer of RenaissanceRe Syndicate Management Limited. Prior to this, Mr. Brennan served as Financial Director with ultimate responsibility for the finance function and related processes as they pertain to the London operations of RenaissanceRe. Mr. Brennan joined RenaissanceRe in Bermuda in 2009, and moved to London later that year.

Previously, Mr. Brennan spent nine years with PricewaterhouseCoopers working in their Dublin, New York and Bermuda offices, respectively. During his time with PricewaterhouseCoopers, Mr. Brennan worked in an audit and latterly in an advisory capacity within the company’s financial services sector, primarily focused on the Insurance/Reinsurance market.

Mr. Brennan graduated from Trinity College Dublin with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business and Economics, before qualifying as a Chartered Accountant through the Irish Institute in 2003. More recently, he was awarded the CFA charter.

Sean Brosnan

Bryan Dalton

Bryan Dalton is Senior Vice President and Active Underwriter for RenaissanceRe Syndicate 1458. He is based in London and is responsible for the underwriting strategy, processes and standards for the Lloyd’s business of Renaissance Reinsurance Ltd.

Previously, Mr. Dalton managed the International Property Catastrophe portfolio for RenaissanceRe, including the underwriting of retrocessional and primary reinsurance deals, and was based in Bermuda. Mr. Dalton began his career with the Company in 2002 in Dublin as a catastrophe analyst, moving to the Bermuda office in 2005 as Assistant Vice President within the reinsurance team. He was promoted to Vice President on the International Cat team in 2009 and named Senior Vice President in 2012.

Mr. Dalton holds a Masters in Chemical Engineering from the University of Manchester and a Masters in Management Science from University College Dublin.

Jamie Fraser

Robin Lang

Robin Lang is Senior Vice President and Chief Risk Officer for RenaissanceRe Syndicate Management Ltd. He is based in London and is responsible for the risk profile of Syndicate 1458 and Renaissance Reinsurance of Europe.

Mr. Lang joined RenaissanceRe in 2001 in Dublin as a property treaty analyst and held various roles in the risk and portfolio management team in Bermuda before being seconded to the risk team in London in 2010 to assist with the Syndicate 1458’s Solvency II efforts. Mr. Lang has extensive understanding of the RenaissanceRe risk systems and tools as well as the RenaissanceRe risk and underwriting culture.

Mr. Lang has a Bachelor of Engineering degree from Edinburgh University and a Masters in Engineering from McGill University in Montreal.

Michael Luber

Peter McLoughlin

Peter McLoughlin is Group Head of Claims for RenaissanceRe and is based in London. He is responsible for executing the company’s global claims strategy and manages the claims teams in Bermuda, the UK and the US. He is also Head of Claims for RenaissanceRe Syndicate 1458, overseeing incoming claims and aligning processes and policies with Lloyd’s requirements.

Mr. McLoughlin has almost 20 years of experience in the claims market. Before joining RenaissanceRe in 2012, Mr. McLoughlin held the position of Energy and Property Claims Manager with Arch Insurance Company. During his time at Arch, Mr. McLoughlin’s responsibilities extended to Marine and Accident & Health classes, across the company and Lloyd’s market. Prior to Arch, he worked at Hiscox as the UK Property and Casualty Claims Manager.

Mr. McLoughlin holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honors) Degree in English Literature from Loughborough University. He is an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute.

Becket McNab

Matthew Neuber

Matt Neuber is an Assistant Vice President with Ventures. His responsibilities include supporting the Ventures team in all aspects of business development and transaction execution across joint ventures, private strategic investments, and firm corporate development, including M&A and new business opportunities. He joined RenaissanceRe in June 2014.

Previously Mr. Neuber works for Elm Ridge Capital Management, a New York-based hedge fund, as an analyst on the investment team. Prior to this, he spend two years at Keefe, Bruyette and Woods providing investment banking services to insurance clients. Mr. Neuber also spent three years at a financial services-focused private equity fund backed by Credit Suisse.

Mr. Neuber obtained his Bachelor of Arts with a major in Economics from Williams College. He is a qualified Chartered Financial Analyst.

Justin O’Keefe

Justin O’Keefe is Chief Underwriting Officer – North America and Bermuda and is responsible all lines of business across this group of regions. He is based in Bermuda.

Prior to this, Mr. O’Keefe was Senior Vice President and Chief Underwriting Officer for the global property segment at RenaissanceRe, responsible for the Company’s property underwriting strategy, activities and teams across its global platforms. Mr. O’Keefe joined the company in 2004 and has held a series of senior underwriting roles.

Mr. O’Keefe serves on the Board of Directors of Top Layer Reinsurance Ltd, DaVinci Reinsurance Ltd. and Vermeer Reinsurance Ltd. He currently sits on the Board of Directors and Executive Committee of the Reinsurance Association of America (RAA) and is involved in multiple other insurance and reinsurance trade organizations.

Justin has 25 years of experience in the industry, starting at E.W. Blanch in 1997 where he specialized in property catastrophe reinsurance. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Risk Management and Insurance from the St. Cloud State University in Minnesota, where he sits on the Advisory Council of the Herberger Business School.

Jonathan Paradine

Jonathan Paradine is responsible for RenaissanceRe’s market research efforts in Asia. Previously, he was Senior Vice President of RenaissanceRe Holdings Ltd. and Chief Underwriting Officer of Renaissance Reinsurance Ltd. In those roles, he was responsible for managing the underwriting strategy, processes and standards for the Reinsurance business unit of RenaissanceRe, including Property Catastrophe, Ceded Reinsurance, and Specialty Reinsurance lines.

Mr. Paradine joined the Company in 1996. He became a Vice President in 2002 and was made Senior Vice President in 2005, with responsibility for overseeing the U.S. Property Catastrophe book of business, working closely with the RenaissanceRe Ventures team to structure capital markets transactions and joint ventures. He has been instrumental in the development of the Company’s proprietary Renaissance Exposure Management System (REMS©) and its portfolio analysis methodologies. Mr. Paradine holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Queen’s University.

Chris Parry

Chris Parry is responsible for structuring and supporting RenaissanceRe’s catastrophe joint ventures, including DaVinci Re, Top Layer Re, Upsilon Fund and the Medici Fund. Mr. Parry joined the company in August 2016.

Previously, Mr. Parry was head of the International Capital Markets team at Aon Securities with a specific focus on insurance linked securities. Mr. Parry led a number of successful international cat bond and sidecar transactions including Tramline II, Atlas X and Windmill I. Prior to this Mr. Parry gained 10 years of experience working with Dresdner Kleinwort Investment Bank as a structurer on the Alternative Risk Transfer desk and at Citigroup in London.

Mr. Parry is a Qualified Chartered Accountant and has a BSc degree in Management Science from the University of Warwick.

James L. Gibbons

James L. Gibbons has served as a director of RenaissanceRe since May 2008. Mr. Gibbons is a Class I director.

Mr. Gibbons, a Bermudian citizen, is Executive Chairman of Harbour International Trust Company Limited and the Treasurer, a Director and member of the Executive Committee of Edmund Gibbons Limited. Mr. Gibbons also serves as a Director and member of the Risk Committee of Clarien Bank Limited (“Clarien”), an international financial company. He was also Non-Executive President of Bermuda Air Conditioning Limited (“BACL”) through March 2019 and currently serves as a Director of BACL. Mr. Gibbons served as Chair of Capital G Bank Limited from 1999 to 2013 and as President and Chief Executive Officer of Capital G Limited from 1999 to 2010, prior to the change of name to Clarien from Capital G in 2014.

David C. Bushnell

David C. Bushnell has served as a director of RenaissanceRe since May 2008. Mr. Bushnell is a Class I director.

Mr. Bushnell has served as the principal of Bushnell Consulting, a financial services consulting firm, since 2008. Mr. Bushnell retired from Citigroup Inc. in 2007, after 22 years of service. Mr. Bushnell served as the Senior Risk Officer of Citigroup from 2003 through 2007 and retired as Chief Administrative Officer in 2007.

Following his retirement from Citigroup, Mr. Bushnell served as a consultant to Citigroup until December 31, 2008. Previously, Mr. Bushnell worked for Salomon Smith Barney Inc. (later acquired by Citigroup) and its predecessors in a variety of positions, including as a managing director and Chief Risk Officer. In addition to his board service on Cordia Bancorp Inc. (“Cordia”), a public bank holding company, from 2011 to 2016, Mr. Bushnell served as Chief Risk Officer of Cordia and its wholly owned subsidiary, Bank of Virginia, from 2011 until Cordia was acquired in September 2016.

Shyam Gidumal

Shyam Gidumal has served as a director of RenaissanceRe since May 2022. Mr. Gidumal is a Class I director.

Mr. Gidumal has over 35 years of experience in operational leadership, digital transformation, and strategy development as a senior executive, board member, private equity investor and advisor. From February 2020 to November 2021, he served as the President and Chief Operating Officer of WeWork Inc. From March 2011 to June 2019, Mr. Gidumal served as a Principal at Ernst & Young Global Limited, where he led the Consumer Products and Retail segment. Over his career he has held several executive roles, including at Worldcom (Asia), Acterna, Armstrong Furniture, and The Boston Consulting Group.

Mr. Gidumal has been a Member of the Board of Directors of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society since 2014.

Brian G. J. Gray

Brian G. J. Gray has served as a director of RenaissanceRe since May 2013. Mr. Gray is a Class II director.

From 2008 until his retirement in 2012, Mr. Gray served as Group Chief Underwriting Officer of Swiss Reinsurance Company Ltd. (“Swiss Re”) and was a member of Swiss Re’s Group Executive Committee. From 2005 through 2008, he was a member of the Group Executive Board, responsible for underwriting Property and Specialty Product Lines on a global basis for Swiss Re.

Mr. Gray joined Swiss Re in Canada (“Swiss Re Canada”) in 1985, and served in a variety of roles, including as President and Chief Executive Officer of Swiss Re Canada from 2001 to 2005 and Senior Vice President of Swiss Re Canada from 1997 to 2001.

Duncan P. Hennes

Duncan P. Hennes has served as a director of RenaissanceRe Holdings Ltd. since August 2017. Mr. Hennes is a Class II director.

Mr. Hennes has served as the Co-Founder and Managing Member of Atrevida Partners, LLC (“Atrevida”) since 2007. Prior to co-founding Atrevida, he served as Co-Founder and Partner of Promontory Financial Group from 1999 to 2006. Prior to that, Mr. Hennes served in a number of senior executive positions at Bankers Trust Corporation, including Executive Vice President in charge of Trading, Sales and Derivatives, and as the Chairman of the Board of Oversight Partners I, the consortium that took control of Long Term Capital Management, from 1987 to 1998. From 1998 to 1999 he was the Chief Executive Officer at Soros Fund Management, LLC.

Mr. Hennes is currently a member of the Board of Directors of Citigroup Inc. (“Citigroup”) , where he serves as the Chair of the Risk Management Committee and the Compensation, Performance Management and Culture Committee, and as a member of the Audit Committee and the Executive Committee, and is also a member of the Board of Directors of Citibank, N.A., Citigroup’s primary subsidiary.

Henry Klehm III

Henry Klehm III has served as a director of RenaissanceRe since May 2006. Mr. Klehm is a Class III director.

Mr. Klehm has been a partner at the law firm Jones Day since 2008 and has been the Practice Leader of the firm’s Securities Litigation and SEC Enforcement Practice since January 2017. From 2002 to 2007, Mr. Klehm served as Global Head of Compliance for Deutsche Bank, AG.

Prior to joining Deutsche Bank, AG, Mr. Klehm served as Chief Regulatory Officer and Deputy General Counsel at Prudential Financial from 1999 to 2002. Prior to joining Prudential Financial, Mr. Klehm served in various positions with the SEC, including as Senior Associate Director of the Northeast Regional Office.

Valerie Rahmani

Dr. Valerie Rahmani has served as a director of RenaissanceRe Holdings Ltd. since August 2017. Dr. Rahmani is a Class III director.

Dr. Rahmani has more than 30 years of experience in the technology industry, including more than 25 years at IBM, where she served in roles of increasing seniority across multiple global business segments from 1981 to 2009, most recently as General Manager of Internet Security Systems.

Subsequent to her tenure at IBM, Dr. Rahmani was Chief Executive Officer at Damballa, Inc., a privately held Internet security software company, from 2009 to 2012. From 2017 to 2019, she served as the part-time head of the Innovation Panel at Standard Life Aberdeen plc, a UK-based FTSE 100 global investment company. She has served on the Board of the London Stock Exchange Group, plc since 2017, and currently serves as a member of the Nomination Committee, Remuneration Committee and Risk Committee.

Previously, Dr. Rahmani served as a member of the boards of directors of Elliot Opportunity II Corp. from 2021 to 2023, Computer Task Group, Incorporated from 2015 to 2023, and Aberdeen Asset Management PLC from 2015 to 2017.

Carol P. Sanders

Carol Sanders has served as a director of RenaissanceRe since May 2016. Ms. Sanders is a Class III director.

Ms. Sanders has served as the President of Carol P. Sanders Consulting, LLC, providing consulting services to the insurance and technology industries, since June 2015. From June 2013 until June 2015, she served as Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer of Sentry Insurance. Previously, she served as the Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Jewelers Mutual Insurance Company from November 2012 until June 2013, where she also served as Senior Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer from May 2011 until November 2012 and as Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer from 2004 until May 2011, after holding a series of positions of increasing responsibility in finance, accounting, treasury and tax.

Ms. Sanders is currently a member of the board of directors of Alliant Energy Corporation, a public utility holding company, where she serves as the Lead Independent Director, Chair of the Nominating and Governance Committee, and as a member of the Audit Committee and the Executive Committee, as a member of the board of directors of First Business Financial Services, Inc., a registered bank holding company, where she serves as Chair of the Audit Committee and as a member of the Compensation Committee, and a member of the board of directors of GuideOne Insurance Group, a mutual insurance company.

Torsten Jeworrek

Torsten Jeworrek has served as a director of RenaissanceRe since May 2023. Mr. Jeworrek is a Class I director. 

From 2003 until his retirement in 2022, Dr. Jeworrek served as a Member of the Board of Management and the CEO Reinsurance of Munich Reinsurance AG (“Munich Re”). As CEO Reinsurance, Dr. Jeworrek was directly responsible for Reinsurance Strategy, Data and Analytics, IT, Group Innovation, Internet of Things, Corporate Underwriting and Geo & Climate Risks Research. Dr. Jeworrek joined Munich Re in 1990 as an underwriter, and served in a variety of roles, including Head of Department for Financial Reinsurance from 1999 to 2001 and Head of P&C for Netherlands, Nordic countries, UK and Ireland from 2001 to 2003. Dr. Jeworrek has been a member of the Executive Board of the National Academy of Science and Technology since 2023.

Cynthia Trudell

Cynthia Trudell has served as a director of RenaissanceRe since May 2019. Ms. Trudell is a Class III director.

From 2011 until her retirement in September 2017, Ms. Trudell served as Executive Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer of PepsiCo, Inc. (“PepsiCo”). From 2007 through 2011, she served as Senior Vice President and Chief Personnel Officer of PepsiCo. Prior to her tenure at PepsiCo, Ms. Trudell held a number of executive operating and general management positions with General Motors Corporation from 1981 to 2001, and Brunswick Corporation from 2001 to 2006, including chairwoman and president of Saturn Corporation, president of IBC Vehicles and president of Sea Ray Group.

Since 2019, Ms. Trudell has served on the board of Canadian Tire Corporation, a Canadian retail company publicly traded on the Toronto Stock Exchange, where she is Chair of the Compensation Committee and a member of the Governance Committee. From 2013 to 2019, she served as a member of the Defense Business Board, which provides business advice to the U.S. Department of Defense. Previously, Ms. Trudell served as a member of the boards of directors of ISS A/S from 2015 to 2023, The Pepsi Bottling Group, Inc. from 2008 to 2010, Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce from 2005 to 2008, and PepsiCo, Inc. from 2000 to 2007.
